Happy May!

Even tho winter is fast approaching, you can still get some seeds started. Especially since Easter was so warm. The soil temp is still ok and the weeds are starting to show themselves.

Three birds one stone.
Mulch your garden now, with 100mm of sugar cane mulch to suppress the weeds and help keep the soil temp up. Fruit trees and shrub beds will do well with a dose of leaf litter and woody mulch.

Now that we’ve had some rain the fresh mulch will help keep the moisture in the soil longer. Adding mulch now will produce better vegetables with less effort from you.

If you havent already, these are the Seeds to sow now

Broad Bean, Cabbage, Lettuce, Mustard, Onion, Pea, Radish, Shallots, Swede
